The word Charma means skin in Sanskrit and other Indian languages. Charma was conceptualised in the summer of
2013 as a centre to treat dermatological problems. It was started in Chirag Hospital, a small nursing home in
South Bengaluru. The advantage therefore would be the ability to treat problems that otherwise could not be
done in an office setting as most stand-alone dermatology clinics in Bengaluru.
Dermatology in the fast-growing urban metro like Bangalore was always veering towards the cosmetic or
aesthetic domain and less emphasis was given to treating other skin conditions like chronic non-healing
ulcers, auto-immune disorders, and skin cancer. A hospital setup provided the opportunity to treat these
conditions with the help of other specialities like rheumatology, plastic surgery, internal medicine, etc.
Charma embraced these conditions and also started a new aesthetic wing in 2021 to cater to the ever-growing
need for aesthetic treatments.
We aim to be a leader in dermatology practice and especially as a leading centre in Acne management not
just in terms of the number of patients seen, amount of turnover, or the number of centers, but in
providing impeccable service in terms of patient comfort, diagnosis of disease and meeting the
expectations of our well informed / ill-informed patients by arming them with correct information to
choose the appropriate treatment.
Although we believe that technology is only as good as the
person wielding it, we aim to provide the latest technologies available in the field including AI, gadgets
like LASERs, robots, and diagnostic devices to be able to provide better diagnosis and treatments to our
patients.
Lastly, as responsible citizens of a larger society, we would like to pass on the
knowledge learnt by years of practice and observations to future generations by starting training
programmes to help disseminate the knowledge that we have obtained to benefit a far larger group of
people.

that caters to both clinical and aesthetic needs. We always focus on novel approaches to modify existing
treatment regimes to give better results. Even in the field of aesthetics we try and provide a wide

Our chief dermatologist Dr. Rajdeep Mysore also
does rural visits on a weekly basis to serve the people in the rural areas with little or no access to
quality dermatology care.
In addition, our team has been involved in several camps, every year
in corporate offices to make it easier for busy office workers to access skin treatments at their
doorstep. We have also been involved in spreading knowledge about dermatological problems and dispelling
myths especially with conditions like vitiligo which have a social stigma attached to them.
Our team has also done free service in government schools and as a part of the social responsibilities
taken up with BDS (Bangalore Dermatological Society) and independently to serve the needy. We believe that
everyone should have access to quality healthcare irrespective of their socio-economic status and
regularly provide discounts and free treatment to the unaffordable even in our clinic. We are tied up with
Charity, a charitable trust created by the founders of Chirag Hospital to deliver affordable and quality

Dr.Rajdeep is focussed on treating the patients and curing them. he has a patient first attitude,
makes them comfortable by explaining in details the diagnosis and the course of medication to cure the
disease.The doctor refused to take any consultation fee after the first one for repeated visits since
